Valencia bounded up the hill towards her home. Suddenly, Valencia heard voices from behind a bush. She crept silently towards the bush. Crouching behind it, Valencia listened to the voices. "We can't just leave! Everyone needs us!" Valencia heard Puddle's voice. Then, she heard Pebble's voice. "Well, either way, we're going to die! I can literally hear it coming!" What does Pebble mean? Is there danger? "So, you're just going to let this happen? You're not even going to help Splash escape? She's having her kits soon!" "Like I said, we're goin' to die anyway!" Puddle growled. He started to stalk away. "Then I'll do it myself!" Pebble sighed, padding away. "Hi, Pebble!" Valencia bounded forward. Pebble stared at her suspiciously. "What?" "Did you hear what I said?" Valencia pretended to look confused. "What? When?" Pebble believed her. Satisfied, he nodded. "Nevermind," Suddenly, Valencia heard shrieks of horror coming from her den. Valencia sped towards her den. "What? What's happening?" Her youngest kit, Socks, looked up at Valencia. "There's something scary in the sky!" Valencia looked up. Socks was right. There was a strange object. It looked like a bird, but bigger. Suddenly, the strange bird opened it's stomach and dropped a strange kind of rock. It looked dangerous. "Socks, follow me!" Valencia yowled. "You too, Bird! And you, Pond! Let's go!" Valencia's mate, Jasper, looked at her. "C'mon, Jasper! Let's go!" Jasper nodded. He picked up Socks, Pond sitting on his back. "Bird, stay with me." Valencia mewed. She picked up Bird, being careful not to hurt the kit. "We have to be very careful," Jasper warned the family. Valencia raced outside. The home was in mayhem. Sam was yowling, grabbing his kit, Lexy. Splash was staggering with Puddle. Pebble watched on, dismayed. Then, Valencia and the family got out of the home, running as fast as they could. When they were far away, Valencia tripped. Bird yelped, falling. "Valencia!" Jasper shrieked, racing towards her. "G-go! Go!" Jasper looked hurt for a moment, then he realized what she meant. "My leg is stuck, just go! Please..." Jasper stayed put, along with Bird and Pond. "Socks, if you want to escape, please leave! Then you'll know I'm in a better place," Socks' eyes started to tear. "Okay, Mommy..." Socks ran as fast as she could. Suddenly, the big rock hit the ground. The last thing Valencia saw was Socks shrieking.
